Privacy Policy
Reading Light collects nothing.
The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It makes no network connections of any kind, so nothing about you or your device ever leaves it.
What is stored, and where
Your preferred warmth, brightness and settings (sleep-timer length and style, clock style, haptics, click sound, warm-as-it-dims) are stored only on your device, so they are there next time you open the app. They are never sent anywhere. Deleting the app deletes them.
Screen brightness
The app changes your screen brightness while it is open, because the screen is the lamp, and restores your own brightness when you leave.
Hinge
On iPhone Duo the app reads the hinge angle, through the system, to set the brightness of the light. The angle is used on the spot and is not recorded.
Siri, Shortcuts and Control Center
The app offers actions to Shortcuts, Siri and Control Center (turn on the light, start the sleep timer, start a sunrise). These run entirely on your device under Apple's own rules; the app receives nothing from them beyond the request itself.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this address with the date below updated.
